Qatuwas people gathering together

Cranmer, Barb. (Added Author). Brown, Frank. (Added Author). Johnson, George. (Added Author). National Film Board of Canada. (Added Author). Qatuwas Productions Inc. (Added Author).

Summary: For thousands of years the great ocean-going canoe sustained the cultural and spiritual traditions of coastal First Nations. Yet this century has seen the virtual disappearance of these sacred vessels. In 1993, the Heiltsuk people of B.C.'s central coast threw out a challenge to native people up and down the coast: build a canoe and come to the Qatuwas Festival in Bella Bella.
