Each of the First Nations endured numerous hardships, however, their spirit sustained them and remains with them wherever they are. The elders, who have directly experienced or learned from their parents or grandparents, offer another view to that expressed in the general media, which has often misrepresented their history or ignored the contributions made by First Nations people.
