Medicare schmedicare a television essay

Summary: Do we already have two tier Medicare in Canada and have we been saluting Tommy Douglas as an emperor who really has no clothes? Is one tier Medicare a myth? As the country languishes in the debate whether to move to a parallel private health care system "Medicare Schmedicare" takes the highly unorthodox stance that two tier health care is already here. Filmed in private clinics in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto, this program outlines the various health services that have become privatized in Canada. It compares the waiting times for patients who opt for private services versus those who anxiously line up with their health cards.
