Rangi, Aneel. (Added Author). Canadian Apprenticeship Forum. (Added Author). Canadian Electronic Library (Firm) (Added Author). Coherent Digital (Firm) (Added Author).

Summary: The six workplace practices described in this report that support journeyperson mentoring and training were drawn from more than 80 interviews with employers, journeypersons, apprentices and trainers, with additional input from the members of the Working Group. The practices include selecting the appropriate person to be the mentor, offering mentoring training, creating a training plan, giving the journeyperson and apprentice opportunities to evaluate how things are going, providing the journeypersons with approaches around effective mentoring and communication and, finally, providing ongoing supports such as refresher courses.
